Traver Gallery is proud to present Colour Connections by German-born artist Heike Brachlow. Known for her striking, kiln-cast glassworks, Brachlow explores how color, light, and material interact in this newest series of abstract sculptures. This new body of work exemplifies Brachlow’s innovative approach to glass and her unique ability to alter how we perceive color, form, space, and medium.
Heike’s often precariously balanced sculptures aim to engage the viewer physically. Color is an essential part of her work: exploring the interaction of color, form, and light in solid transparent glass has led her to produce her own glass colors, adding metal oxides to the glass batch during the melting process. Creating a unique and personal palette of colors enables her to create subtle tones and polychromatic colors that change depending on light, density, and form. Her work reflects her attraction to movement and transformation in color and form.
