WE'RE MOVING

Dear Traver Gallery Friends,
We are thrilled to share some truly exciting news with you. The new year brings big new things for the gallery—we are moving!!
After more than 30 years in our current space, the time has come to change things up. Beginning in April, you’ll find us in our new home inside a beautifully restored warehouse along Seattle’s historic working waterfront. As an anchor tenant of the new West Canal Yards development, this new space allows us to bring greater sustainability and flexibility to our program while providing our community with fresh and exciting new experiences.
Galleries, artists, and creative entrepreneurs have always led the way in revitalizing neighborhoods—envisioning new uses and opportunities for industrial spaces and underutilized areas, thereby reimagining and reshaping our cities. This move signals just such an opportunity. Traver Gallery aims to lead by example, demonstrating how creative businesses can sustainably exist while expanding the perimeter of Seattle’s creative economy.
Our new home at 1100 W. Ewing Street is near the Ballard Bridge, along the south side of the ship canal. A little off the beaten path, this incredible wharf-side site was originally a fish cannery. Graham Baba Architects has beautifully remodeled and updated it, retaining its industrial character while considering how it can best serve numerous maker-based businesses to create a vibrant new creative hub for Seattle.
We are sad to be leaving our beautiful downtown home—and we know you will miss it, too. This gorgeous gallery has hosted more than 600(!!) exhibitions, and the floors, walls, and ceilings bear the indelible mark of every artist who has exhibited here. But with change comes opportunity, and we are thrilled to carry forward the legacy of this space as we embark on our next chapter.
While we won’t host exhibitions in January, February, and March, we will remain open for business by appointment and would love to work with you. Please give us a call or drop us an email any time!
Over the next 12 weeks, we’ll share updates and details, including plans for a grand opening celebration at West Canal Yards. Friends, thank you for being the heart of Traver Gallery. Your unwavering support fuels our journey, and we can’t wait to welcome you to our new space!
Stay tuned for updates, and thank you for your enthusiasm,
💛
