Homo Faber 2024: The Journey of Life

A Celebration of Contemporary Craftsmanship

Art Direction by Luca Guadagnino and Nicolò Rosmarini

September 1–30, 2024

Venice, Fondazione Giorgio Cini

We are honored to have three exceptional artists from the Traver Gallery showing work with Homo Faber 2024: The Journey of Life. Lampworker Ginny Ruffner, Illustrator Andrea Dezsö, and Glass Sculptor Bronson Shonk will all have pieces featured in this exciting exhibition.

Curated by the Michelangelo Foundation, this international celebration of contemporary craftsmanship takes place in Venice, Italy, from September 1 to 30. Now in its third edition, Homo Faber brings together Italian film director Luca Guadagnino and architect Nicolò Rosmarini as art directors to explore The Journey of Life through the lens of craft. The exhibition will feature ten themed spaces across the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, each offering immersive scenography with over 800 handcrafted objects by more than 400 artisans from 60 countries. Visitors can enjoy live demonstrations, unique culinary experiences, and exclusive opportunities to visit 70 open workshops throughout Venice as part of Homo Faber in Città.

This year marks the first time the biennial craft exhibition has invited artists from the United States to showcase their work. We are excited to introduce and share works by Andrea Dezsö, Ginny Ruffner, and Bronson Shonk, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Michelangelo Foundation.
