Benjamin Edols & Kathy Elliott

Kathy Elliott received her BA from Canberra School of Art in 1991.  In 1992, she traveled to America and for two years talked and worked her way through public and private glass studios learning the potential, and coming to love, the widely underestimated realm of cold working.  She was a fellow at the Creative Glass Center of America in 1993 and following that was a technician at Urban Glass for three months.

Benjamin Edols received his BA from Sydney College of the Arts and a Graduate Diploma from the Canberra School of Art in 1992.  He spent the next two years living and working in America, blowing glass at Urban Glass, assisting various artists in their own studios participating as a student and teaching assistant at Pilchuck, Haystack and Penland.  He enjoyed a fellowship at the Creative Glass Centre of America in 1993.

Benjamin and Kathy returned to Australia in 1994 to live and work by the beach in Manly.  Ben and Kathy continue to visit America every year to participate in or teach workshops at Pilchuck Glass School and The Studio of Corning Museum.  Their work is shown in exhibitions across Australia, Japan, Europe and America.  Their work was recently selected to be included in an exhibition of contemporary Australian craft to tour Japan in 1999 organized by the Hokkaido Museum and the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
