Chris McElroy

McElroy creates a strong sense of place within his pieces by incorporating architectural elements, along with mystical landscape scenes. As is the case with many Northwest artists, a distinct Asian influence can be seen in his work, along with a deep reverence for our natural surroundings.

Reminiscent of artifacts from another time, many of McElroy’s pieces are composed of distinct bands of color, suggesting the striated patterns found in recently excavated earth. His ingenious color application techniques are paired with intricate, hand carved designs to produce richly textured surfaces.
